Hives (Urticaria)

Hives (Urticaria)
Hives (Urticaria)

These are raised itchy red skin rashes which appear suddenly, remain for a short period, disappear then come back again. They can occur spontaneously without any reason, with or after viral infection, medication or with a particular physical trigger known as inducible urticaria.  While most hives resolve within a couple of weeks without any specific treatment, in 20% of cases they can last more than six weeks when they are called chronic and can result in significant distress to children and their families.

We will conduct appropriate investigations and provide management strategies that will decrease disease burden and improve quality of life.
